    Jesse Charles Gonzales

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loving husband, father, brother and friend, Jesse Charles Gonzales. Jesse went home to be with our Lord on Sunday, March 10, 2024, in Amarillo, Texas, at the age of 67.

Services will be at 10:00 AM, Friday, March 15, 2024, at Commanche Trail Church of Christ, 2700 SE 34

Jesse was born October 19, 1956, in Tucumcari, NM to Charlie and Kathy Gonzales. The family moved to Amarillo, Texas in 1967, where Jesse finished growing up. He married his wife, Cindy, on November 14, 1975. They were married for 48 years and had one son, Christopher.

Jesse had a long career of 33 years with the City of Amarillo, retiring in 2008 at the age of 51. His hobbies included genealogy, tracing his family tree back to the early 16th century. He had a love for classic cars, rebuilding them with his son, and a passion for his 1968 Chevrolet Camaro.

Jesse is well known among his family and friends for his quick wit and humor. In Jesse’s own words “you know, people may not remember things you said or even things you did, but they will always remember how you made them feel. I hope I never made someone in my family feel bad. That’s it, Jesse”. He will be sor
