"I spoke to members of Viveka’s family. And they categorically told me that there was no such immediate move to re-open the case. In fact, they are unaware of the origin of this report and have requested the media to thoroughly verify their facts before going ahead with such unconfirmed news," said the family’s spokesperson, Dale Bhagwagar. Viveka Babaji's body was found hanging from the ceiling fan of her residence at suburban Bandra this evening.

A former successful model and part-time fashion co-ordinator Viveka Babajee committed suicide by hanging herself in her Khar apartment on Friday.
Babajee, who featured in several advertisements and a couple of Bollywood films between 2000 and 2004, was suffering from depression, it is learnt. The police have recovered a suicide note from the house.
According to the police, Babajee had shifted base to Mauritius a couple of years ago. She was staying alone in Mumbai.
Neighbours got worried on Friday as Babajee did not answer the door bell despite repeated attempts, and the smell of gas was emanating from the apartment. “Finally, the neighbours alerted the police who rushed to the spot and broke open the door. She was found hanging from the ceiling fan,” said Amitabh Gupta, additional commissioner of police, West region.
