Dr. Jonathan Crane, also known as the Scarecrow, is a Gotham City supervillain and a major enemy of Batman. Created by Batman creators Bill Finger and Bob Kane, he first appeared in World's Finest Comics #3 (Fall 1941). The Scarecrow (Dr. Jonathan Crane) is a fictional Batman supervillain who appears in American comic books published by DC Comics. He uses fear gas to scare his victims and even Batman. He wears a scarecrow mask and a scarecrow costume. He first appeared in World's Finest Comics #3 (September, 1941). [1] Jonathan Crane was bullied at school. He was called mean names like "Ichabod Crane", because he looked like the character Ichabod Crane from the book Sleepy Hollow. Because of this, he became obsessed with fear. He became a psychologist and learnt about fear. He lost his job for using his patients as tests for his fear gases and drugs. He then became a criminal. He appeared in television series, movies, action figures, and video games. He was played by Cillian Murphy in Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, and in The Dark Knight Rises. |
