Tableau ferraille
A colourful drama with a solid soundtrack, about the young ambitious politician Daam. He is a man with ideals, but is forced to leave the small village of Tableu Ferraille in disgrace. His sad departure is gradually explained.
A true feel-good film from Senegal. Colorful and with a solid soundtrack, but the visuals are also filled with music. Tableau Ferraille is the name of a village outside Dakar. The story begins with a good-looking and well-dressed individual, marked by a fight, leaving the village in disgrace. Gradually, we are introduced to his sad downfall. Daam was a man with ideals. When he is elected as the village councilor and later the chief, it is because of his speeches about social stability, his honesty, and sense of justice. Unfortunately, he has a significant weakness: he cannot resist women. This becomes his downfall.
Even though the film has a light tone, there are darker undertones beneath. The protagonist represents noble ideals but is brought down by forces within Senegalese society.
